In the last number of weeks it has become apparent that at least three of our Gwent County players have been illegally approached by another club not a million miles from us, asking them to transfer to their team.Any player who is contacted by another club illegally to transfer to them for financial reward or otherwise, whilst they are contracted to Cwmffrwdoer Sports Club are to inform any member of the management team or committee member immediately, in order for us to initiate proceedings for illegal inducement of our players in accordance with rule 42 inducement of players Gwent County FA handbook. Any such contact by e mail text or mob call etc, should be retained as evidence for disciplinary purposes. We are presently seeking advice on our present situation and will not hesitate to take any action deemed necessary in order to bring the culprits to book.

All the best Sherman.I played for the Thursdays years ago along with Kyle Holmes ,Carl Wallbyhof,Nutty Ellaway Gary Barrell,Simon Tyler and all others when in the top flight of the Welsh League. If they can keep going they will have the facilities and support of the locals, just the same as we at Cwmffrwdoer will do with all the support that the club and committee and players give. All the best and enjoy family life mate.

After thinking long and hard, i have decided to leave and sign for Abergavenny thursdays. as i live in Abergavenny, and with a new born baby, i feel that playing for a club close to home will make life easier for me and my family. I can now walk to training and walk to games on matchdays and enjoy a beer without having to drive home. I would like to take this opportunity to wish Cwmffrwdoer every success for the future, and a special thank you to Neil Reid for his support during my time at the club. I would also like to thank the players and hope that they get their goal of promotion this season.

Its nice to see the club have an influx of players and both teams being able to select from so many.Having been asked by the committee to manage the seconds i feel that the team can go places as long as they listen and work together. The club has shown support for both teams so lets pay it back.

Ricky Malsom has joined Risca AFC as player/coach, from my point of view as manager, he was one of the best defenders i have had the pleasure of working with, he was honest, loyal and a true role model to all the younger players, best of luck Ricky you will be sorely missed.

To days result against league leaders Undy came as no surprise to me, as we were exceptional, we set out our stall, stuck to the game plan, and took the game to Undy, and they could not deal with us, make no doubt about it they were outplayed. Total respect for their manager who stated we were the best side they had played this season. We are getting better every week, in all honesty, they survived to gain a point having been awarded two penalties, one of which i can live with.

Excellent result saturday lads, shows some metal to come back from 3-0 down against a disciplined Blaenavon Blues side with fifteen minutes to go, and get a 3-3 draw, not many sides in this league would of recovered from that, if we had another five minutes on the clock we could of snatched it. Shows what you can do on your day with a bit of confidence.

Have not had a great deal of time since returning from abroad, but i would like to thank Keven Bayliss and Chris Townsend for their committment to the club, at the end of the day they gave their very best and i wish them well for the future. As a club we have not had the best of starts to our season, and unfortunately as society is today, loyalty is a word from the dark ages, and after a handfull of games some players leave for pastures new without looking at the long term, and what this club has to offer and what it is striving to achieve. It's well evidenced that most clubs encounters these problems during the course of a season, we have to knuckle down, stop feeling sorry for ourselves and get on with job in hand. I am not foolish enough to realise, that we are not facing an uphill struggle, but it's something we cannot rectify, we showed that against Pontymister saturday, and thats something we can buid on.
