This season, once again, finds Cwmffrwdoer Sports Club 1st and 2nd sides competing in the Gwent County Division 1, and Gwent Central Division 1 respectively, and the Juniors in the Torfaen Junior & Youth League's.
Our football history, however, commenced in quite different circumstances at the turn of the century, 1908 to be precise. Believe it or not, it has only been since the start of season 2000 - 2001, that the club house and changing facilities have been at its current standing. In fact the season started off with only the changing rooms completed, but by the end of the season the club house was completed. Back in 1908, tin baths were the order of the day for washing after the match, if you were lucky enough to get one, where as now, the club can boast separate changing facilities with their own showers plus a separate changing facility for match day officials.
The club's ethos in recent years has been to provide the community with a facility that it can be proud of, and this is no more apparent than with the memorial garden, which I am sure you will notice on arrival at the club house. The garden is a mark of respect to members who have sadly passed away, and had committed themselve to Cwmffrwdoer, making the club what it is today.
Not only does the club boast fine changing facilities, but suitable club rooms for after match refreshments, cabaret evenings and private fuctions. All those members and non-members, who have visited the club have remarked on its appearance and quality throughout. If you have visited us previously, or intend to come for the first time, We hope you will have a pleasant and enjoyable time, and hope that you will return in the very near future.
Thank you
Mr Malcolm Richards (Chairman)
